As one ascends, one will withdraw from such things as property ownership, investments, and many other third-dimensional preoccupations such as movies, television, newspapers and other forms of entertainment. This is simply because inherent in such activities are unconscious forms of harmfulness that continue to be perpetrated until one relinquishes participation in such activities.
The harmfulness perpetrated through the act of watching movies or television is that one gives their energy to such thought forms. If such thought forms are violent, one contributes or fuels violent manifestations on Earth by giving such thought forms energy. If one is watching a violent act upon the news, one also gives their energy to such thought forms. As one ascends, the power or energy behind one's thoughts increases. The more powerful the thoughts of an ascending initiate, the more energy is given to a particular thought form as one engages with it. It is for this reason that our channels have withdrawn from such preoccupations and forms of entertainment as television, newspapers and movies within recent years.
One who fuels violence into physicality by engaging in such thought forms also collects the karma from such actions. Karma must be balanced to ascend. If one is accruing more karma than one is releasing, one's ascension ceases. It is for this reason that initiates will discover that they must withdraw from the current third-dimensional paradigm in order to ascend and embody harmlessness.

Our point here is that there is nothing to fear, although we see that the media is in practice of amplifying fear to a point of terror surrounding such things as terrorist acts, disease, plagues and war. Why is the media so hip on fear? Fear sells papers and turns humans to read the news or watch the news. Through the news, the corporations behind it all take the power and chi from the masses who watch watch watch out of terror. Those behind the news inflate themselves to be larger than life; it is in the larger than life state that the wealthiest of humans sustain their wealth. Therefore terror serves.
We invite ascending initiates and those reading our materials to turn off the TV; to cease listening to the news; to cease surfing the web and learn to turn inward to the real news. What is the real news? The real news is that earth is ascending; that earth is passing her initiations in each increasing star gate towards the great central sun. More and more you are called to exercise the energy healing abilities in which each of you have found skill. At the present moment we would suggest that you consider 'binding' (or as the channel would say, piggybacking) your healing energies to those of the world at large.Just as two energies moving in opposite directions cancel each other out, attempting to 'heal' the current emotional upheaval merely cancels out your own energy.
Instead, we would suggest using the flow of energies already available to you - that of the media. When you choose to watch the television, be aware, be conscious of the quality of energies broadcast. Do not attempt to change them. Engaging any energy with the intent of changing it merely allows it access into your energy grid.
Notice how you perceive the energy of the television broadcast (or newspaper article, or radio show). Use your own skills to find within yourself the quality of safety, of blessing, of honoring the life within All that makes you feel relaxed and comfortable.
Now allow that quality to 'ride' on the energy of the broadcast. It is a bit like letting chocolate fudge sauce pour gently over glistening vanilla ice cream. Simply allow your own sense of ease and compassion to be in your awareness while you view, read, or listen to the media reports, and it will slip into the current, gently riding on top of it.
This then allows each person viewing, listening or reading to respond to either the energy of the event, or the quality of ease and compassion which you have placed alongside it. In this manner each may chose which energy to 'feed' to their body, mind, and emotions. And so they will choose which energy creates their reality.
In moments such as these it is natural to withdraw and seek safety. Certainly it is prudent to find spiritual center, and that unwavering core connection to the Higher Self or angels or guides. And by sharing that knowing through the media others remember this connection within themselves. For those who would ask us, yes, it is appropriate to use the symbols of Reiki, placing them gently in the media stream. Remember, you place any energies as an offering of healing, as a reflection of your own inner contentedness, not as a command.
Some of you may also be noticing a band of energies coming through, especially in televised live reports. What you are perceiving includes a mix of emotions of the event and emotions of those reporting the event. The reporting aspects include all the live reporters, as well as editors, camera crew, etc.
For those who feel they can isolate the quality of the event from those who are reporting it, you might envision the gentleness of those souls, both in and out of form, who are engaged in the land nearby. If your specialty is finding the quality of soul within those who are reporting the event, take care not to send energy to these people. They have quite enough, thank you!

seeing, they would still stay there-- that it would immobilize you and keep you from thinking."

"Let us say this to you. It is one of those paradoxes where on one hand liberating information is broadcast through a
disruptive frequency. So there you are. You are watching television, and some television show is telling you all about how
uplifted and how unlimited you can be -- while subliminally you are being hit with a frequency that keeps you from original
thinking-that keeps you immobilized -- that keeps you in a survive-arrive-be on time-be silent-go to work society. We are
seeing very little good in the frequency of television. We recommend that you do not expose yourself to it.
As a matter of fact, if you really wish to evolve, we are serious, do not read your newspapers, do not listen to the radio,
and do not watch television. lf you are able to be media-free for periods of time, and you disengage yourself from the
frequency of chaos, and anxiety, and stress, and hustle-bustle, and temptations of all kinds that you don't need -- you begin
to get clear. You begin to listen to what is going on inside of yourself. You begin to be able to live of the world, and not
necessarily be lost in it. You will become clear. We cannot re-emphasize this enough!
Everyone wants to argue with us for their last stand -- how about this -- or let us watch this one program! Argue for all of
the television you want. But we are saying that as you travel around the world, and you go into third-world countries where
they do not have bathroom facilities -- where they do not have running water -- where they do not have stoves and
refrigerators -- they have television. We ask you, what is behind it?
Of course, if you were in a society that really cared about its members, they wouldn't give you television. If you were in a
society that really valued its members, everything would be given to you in a way that would bring you wholeness, not
craziness. Television also promotes inactivity-- it promotes a sedentary life -- it promotes an obese life. Look around you.

In chapter nine, titled 'First Contact' we can read about ways to get used to extraterrestrial forms of life. Here an example is presented about the so-called Beta-4's, with the TV only in the sidelines:
It got to the point where the stress became too much. When this occurred, the entire framework of their reality paradigm

The bursting point manifested itself as what you call "poltergeist activity." Strange things began happening in the reality of
just about every individual on the planet. First it began with the individuals who were more spiritual in nature because they
were the more receptive. Then it happened to every member of society. Translating this into your reality, this poltergeist
phenomenon would take the form of strange images on the television, confusing messages printed on computer screens, and
bizarre recordings on magnetic tape. These manifestations were created by the Betans' own minds as they attempted to
hold back the communication. The phenomenon was not created by the extraterrestrials themselves. The psychic energy the
Betans were withholding was actually being channeled into other media through which the communication could occur.

then say, What can I change inside of me that will help to change that situation? That's the most empowering thing

It is hard we understand for you at times to believe and have faith in those things that seem so
far away. When we say that the year 2000 will bring great transformations and changes in the
consciousness of mankind that will ultimately and eventually within a very short space of time,
lead mankind to a transformation that will take them back to paradise. We know that this seems
so far away in a world that is full of destruction and war and pollution and rape. But if you dwell
upon these negatives, if you focus upon the reports that would come to you through your
television or through the newspapers that you would read every day, if you would discuss in
fear in anger in hatred and in pessimism these subjects, you would contribute to their
sustenance, to the maintenance of their physical truth. You would destroy hope. So even if you
do not think these things are real, even if you cannot believe them, then try to exercise a neutral
or positive frame of mind. Instead of looking at the earth and despairing, look at the beauty
within it, gaze at the shadows and try to think positively that one day the light, in part that light
that you carry, will dispel the shadow forever and bring peace and harmony back to the world.
Do not say out loud that it is hopeless, do not say that the optimistic fools, but say instead that
anything and everything is possible, that this could be that miracles do happen, that there is
always hope, stranger things have occurred and that the will and mystery of God is
unfathomable.

by Barbara Clow the fact that we can experience things in our minds just because of receiving light from a TV-set can be regarded as proof for the ability of the mind to manifest something, even if it originally only exists in light. In the following passage the idea is elucidated:

The current increase is caused by the mass media. You are aware of many aspects of violence, but you do not necessarily experience them personally. This is creating a great distortion because: 1) violence is only relevant to the individual experiencing it; and 2) hundreds of millions of people hearing about global violence via the media badly distorts its actual meaning.back to topRemember, during a traumatic event, the people watching it are often in more fear than the ones experiencing it. Before the advent of television and mass communication, you experienced violence rarely; now you watch violence every day....Due to the violence in your media, many of you are thrown into habitual fear of cataclysm. These fears last longer than any potential cataclysm because you don't die. It's the old saying: the actual trauma was nothing compared to the worrying about it."
