Hi Wayne Davidson,
I would like to thank you for your work in bringing out the news of the increasing brightness in the winters in the Northern parts of Canada.
I try to do research into the possibility that certain phenomena that are occurring (or are said to occur in the future) are the result of a warming of the Earth.
Now I'm not talking about global warming because of the greenhouse gases, or anything that is caused by humans, but I'm trying to see the validity of the theory that states that Earth itself is heating up, from within that is.
Because of this heating from within oceans are getting warmer and they cause the heating of the atmosphere. One of the effects of this would be an increase in 'northern lights'-effects all over the world.
You speak about thermal inversion as a possible explanation for the 'Y-V Ulluq Q'-effect. Is there any possibility in your opinion that the increase of brightness is not just from the reflection of the sunlight, but it might partly be the result of more 'light' coming from below, from the Earth, upwards? Like a vulcano, but in stead of hot air and lava, light is cast out.
You say you prefer 'perhaps' as an approach and not an immediate 'No', so I'm curious to hear your response to this possibility.
